It has been over one year since my first post on this website helping people build their personal brand.

The course I created for Udemy has changed names many times and I did a lot of work on it. I even put a modified version of it up on Skillshare which has become a better place for the course than Udemy, at least from a financial standpoint.

While I am glad about the decision to create the course and I am happy with it, it didn’t turn out exactly as I thought it would. It took at least 6 months for the expenses of the course to get paid for, but it’s not all about the financials right?

Fail Fast, Fail Often

While the course wasn’t a huge success, it was a success in many ways. It was a failure in that it didn’t do as well as it needed to to motivate me to continue building more courses. It should have been clear to me that the course would be slow because of the overcrowded topic of WordPress.

It was a success though because it was one attempt in many to find something I enjoy and that can give something for me. I learned a lot in the experience and am happy that I have the course as an accomplishment. Udemy is a complex marketplace of courses and there is a lot to learn about it.

Udemy is as much about business and marketing as it is about being an instructor, perhaps more. I’ve also have the course to thank for securing my name as a domain name and I do enjoy learning more about WordPress and blogging about it.

This blog has been a fun hobby of mine and I’ve been more than happy to keep it up this past year. I will continue to post in this blog and continue to update my course as any changes to WordPress take place that affects how the course works.

I’ve moved into a schedule of posting about once every two weeks and plan on continuing that schedule. WordPress is a great thing to play with and use, and there’s so much to learn. I’m hoping to use this website not only to blog on building brands and WordPress, but also gain some projects to help others build their brand online and.

My focus will be on helping those build their personal brand or small business brand on the Internet through a website and social media. There’s a lot to build out there and it’s tough to do it alone, therefore I’m hoping to act as a resource that can consult on the intricacies of brand building.
